Teeth Bleaching
The bleaching of the teeth stats initlally by consulting your dentist, they will advise whether this treatment option will be effective and assess whether your teeth are suitable for this procedure. An initial visit to your dentist will involve an impression of your teeth to be taken, this will be use to produce a mouth guard used in the teeth bleaching process. Oxidizing agents such as hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide are used to bleach the enamel of the teeth, whilst the soft tissues of the gums are protected by the mouth guard. The treatment will continue in the patients home, where the mouth guard is worn for 30 minutes to 1 hour at a time, over a period of 2-4 weeks. Gradually over time the shade of the teeth improves, countering the effects staining on the teeth.
