Dr Deborah Hurst
BDS (Bham) MFGDP(UK)
Deb joined the Scott Arms Dental Practice in 2004, directly after graduating from the University of Birmingham. At Birmingham, she won several prizes and was awarded the Certificate of Merit in Paediatric Dentistry – an area of work she particularly enjoys. She was Chairperson of the Dental Students Society, captained the University Waterpolo Team and was also awarded University half colours for water polo.
After graduating, Deb successfully completed Vocational Training, winning the 2006 prizes for both Best Clinical Case and Best Clinical Audit in her scheme. Following this, she went on to complete her MFGDP(UK) qualifications at The Royal College of Surgeons, London in 2007. She is Denplan Excel accredited and has had further post-graduate training in areas including implants and sedation.
Deb is warm, caring and friendly and will always put you at ease. She enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, offering a full range of treatments including root canals, crowns, bridges, dentures, implants, surgical and cosmetic treatments and sedation. She particularly enjoys treating children, families and nervous patients.
Outside of work, Deb enjoys family time with her husband and young son, travelling, good food and sport – until the birth of her son she still played water polo in the women’s Midland League. She also enjoys Pilates and is working towards Grade 4 piano after taking it up in recent years.
