Dr Hamza Abbas
BDS University of Manchester 2019
Hamza obtained his Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Manchester before completing his vocational training in the Midlands. He then returned to Manchester to complete one year of Dental Core Training in Maxillo-Facial Surgery during the Covid Pandemic in the Manchester Royal Infirmary. During this time, he was able to strengthen his minor oral surgery skills, and help treat trauma patients and head and neck cancer patients alongside a multitude of other medical specialities. From this, he has gained a versatile skill set that he offers to patients at Scott Arms Dental Practice.
Hamza’s interests involve General and Cosmetic Dentistry, Whitening, Oral Surgery and Orthodontics but understands patient needs revolve around all aspects of Dentistry and is keen to treat patients with whatever issues they have. He is currently enrolled in higher training in the field of Orthodontics to further develop his skills in managing complex cases using fixed braces, Invisalign and other aligner technology. He hopes to combine his enthusiasm in Orthodontics, Cosmetic Dentistry and Implants to transform not only his patients’ smiles but also their confidence.
Going to the Dentist can be daunting for some patients and Hamza understands that. His calm and reassuring demeanour helps to put patients at ease and he offers sedation to those patients who need a little bit more help to overcome their fears. Expect to have a chat with Hamza when you see him as he likes to get to know his patient as well as possible to learn what you want out of your smile.
Outside of Dentistry, Hamza enjoys keeping active training in the gym or running. He is a firm believer in “marginal gains” meaning little improvements over time lead to a huge result. As such he is always looking to push and improve himself in every aspect of his life be it professional or personal.
